Stage 1: Submitting the Application Form and Supporting Documents
Listed below are the documents you must submit as part of your application for admissions. ISG Jubail’s deadline for the submission of complete applications is March 1st. After this date, applications can be submitted and will be vetted through a rolling admissions process. To ensure the application is vetted during the first review period, you must submit by March 1st. Please note that PDF's are interactive and can be downloaded, filled out on a PC and then emailed to the schools directly.
Application Form: One application form per child is required and must be completed, signed and submitted by March 1st.
Application Fee: Enclose the non-refundable application fee of 500 SR per student with your application. This fee will be used to review your child’s application and to defray the cost of any further assessments and interviews that may need to be conducted. Fees must be wire transferred. Refer to the 2017-2018 Tuition and Fees Structure.
Copies of any Standardized Test Results in English: Include the latest copies of standardized test scores, such as Measures of Academic Performance (MAP), state or regional assessments, International Schools Assessment (ISA), etc.
Report Cards/Grade Reports/Transcripts: Include two to three years of information, including any partial year records. If a student is entering Grade 12, records are required for the three previous years. School records must be translated into English and then authenticated. Those coming from an in-Kingdom school must have documents attested by the Foreign Education Department within the area the school is located.
Resource/Special Education Teacher Recommendation Form: If applicable, detailed information on any form of additional educational or emotional support that your child has received must be provided. This includes but is not limited to:
Copies of all diagnostic test reports and results, such as an individualized education program (IEP) or a learning support profile.
Medical information related to your child's learning.
Notes on speech therapy and other therapeutic support.
Recommendations from specialists for future support.
Without this complete set of information the school cannot make the appropriate educational choices for your child, which will provide an environment in which your child will flourish. ISG's goal is to provide a program that is an optimal match between your child's individual educational needs and the support services available at the school. ISG school programs, in compliance with the administration of school policy, are not designed to meet the instructional needs of students with complex learning, language or emotional/behavioral difficulties.
Submitting application form and supporting documents: Hard copies of documents will be accepted by the Registrar’s Office. All documents sent electronically must be saved in PDF format and submitted to the school registrar (see contact information below). For passport pages and digital passport sized photos, we accept only JPEG files. Be sure to review each form for completeness and for required signatures.
Timeline: Families are advised to apply by March 1 due to limited space.
The first deadline for admissions applications is March 1. These applications will receive first priority in consideration for placement.
The review period for these applications is from March 1 to April 30. This is the Decision Window.
As part of our assessment process, we have requested that you provide any results from standardized achievement tests that your child may have taken. We would like to receive scores in Reading, Mathematics and/or English, such as ITBS, CAT, Stanford 9 or 10, ISA, ERB, MAP or US-based state or regional annual exams.
In addition, you and your child may have submitted a questionnaire regarding details of school history, interests in the school program and so forth. Besides those submissions, the school’s admissions committee may request more information in order to make an informed decision about your child’s match with its school program.
Stage 2: School Assessments and Interviews During the Admissions Process
Entrance Exams: All students seeking entry may be tested. Entrance/placement tests are scheduled after a review of the Application File by the School Admission Office and/or the school’s Guidance Counselor. A school staff member will contact you for any of the following procedures in order to provide a more complete record for the admissions committee at each school. The testing has several components that may include the following:
English language skills and mathematics assessment
Child and/or parent interviews
Observation of child in a classroom
If necessary, assessments will be conducted between March and April on set dates for different grade levels in person or via virtual methods. Assessment appointment confirmation will be sent by email.
Interviews: Candidates and their parents may be asked to meet with a school guidance counselor, principal and/or head. At this time parents may ask more detailed questions about the programs and curriculum.
Other Assessments May Be Required:
English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) and Learning Support (LS) Students: ISG believes that in order to consolidate the strength and rigor of the mainstream educational program, there must be an appropriate balance in enrollment between regular admissions and those students who are actively receiving support in English-as-a-Second- Language (ESL) or from Learning Support (LS). The combined number of students at ISG per grade receiving active support from specialists, such as ESL and/or LS, is consistent with the majority of international schools across the world, and represents a small number.
Second language learners, who according to the assessments, appear to have needs outside the regular program may be interviewed and/or tested to determine the level of language support required to ensure the student is successful in the mainstream classroom.
Learning support candidates are accepted into ISG if we are confident that their educational needs can be accommodated within the current program. ISG accepts a limited number of students with mild to moderate learning disabilities whom we believe will be able to succeed, with appropriate support, in a mainstream classroom in the context of a college preparatory program. Each applicant is considered on an individual basis. The decision to admit an applicant with special needs is made by the school admission committee and school principal.
Any student who is applying for admission and has needs in one or more of the following areas will receive special consideration by the school administration. ISG reserves the right to deny any applications where students appear to have needs that cannot be met by our current program.
These may include but may not be limited to:
Visual and auditory impairments requiring specialized instruction and equipment
Grade Level for Your Child: Students are placed in their age appropriate class, unless exceptional circumstances are found. Initial placements may change in our effort to match your child’s current learning and development level with each school’s program. Grade levels are assigned according to when your child’s specific birthday as outlined below.

Admission Decision and Notification: The Admissions Office will convey the final admission decision to the parents as soon as possible, at the latest by April 30. The decision may include one of the following:
Provisionally Accepted (accepted but with conditions that will be stated)
Need more information
Wait List: In some schools and grade levels, successful applicants (accepted or provisionally accepted) cannot be immediately enrolled due to limited space. In these cases, a waitlist will be employed with the following priority rank:
Children of ISG staff and sponsored-Americans of the U.S. Consulate*.
Sibling at school: sibling of current students is given priority.
Siblings (new) in admissions process: an applicant for a full class who has siblings applying to classes where there are openings will get preference.
Gender of current class: the school attempts to achieve gender balance, when possible.
Demographics of current class: the school attempts to achieve a diverse class, when possible.
*guaranteed a seat, or given priority, as long as the applicant meets the entrance requirements.
If a seat becomes available, a school will use the above criteria to decide between applications in the wait-pool. If none of the above criteria can differentiate among students in the wait pool, selection will be made according to the earliest date of submitted application.
Admission Decision: We strive to obtain a balance in gender, diversity in nationalities and predictable academic success for the candidate within the programs offered; when a space becomes available, we determine which candidate best complements the class. If and when a space is available in a class or program, the parents will be advised immediately and asked to confirm that they still wish their child to enter ISG.
It is the School’s prerogative to accept or reject any application. Once a place is offered, the student must be enrolled at that time and the necessary fees paid in order to hold the place for immediate or later entry. Seats will not be held beyond the deadlines set for returning paperwork and paying requested fees.
Probationary: The acceptance of ALL new students is probationary, to be reviewed at the end of the school year in which the student enters. Students for whom continued enrollment at ISG is not predicted to be successful for either themselves and/or the school may be exited, without re-enrollment for the following year, at the discretion of the principal/administrative team. The school may also refuse the re-enrollment of a student if the student’s parent or guardian does not respect the rules and values of the school.
Documents To Be Submitted After Acceptance or Provisional Acceptance
Signed Enrollment Contract Form: Once you are notified that your child has been accepted, you must sign the enrollment contract and pay a 5,000 SAR non-refundable tuition deposit (per family) to reserve the school seat no later than May 31, 2017. Seats will not be held beyond the deadlines set for returning paperwork and paying requested fees. Payment may be made in cash or through a wire transfer to the finance/registration office.
Admission Documents: After acceptance, the following documents must be submitted.
Health-Related Documents: Please complete and submit the following health-related documents before the first day of school; otherwise, your child cannot start classes at an ISG school.
The medical form must be signed and stamped by a medical doctor. A copy of the child’s prior immunization records must be submitted with the form.
Documents Required by Government Relations: Ministry of Education (MOE) approval is requirement for many nationalities, including Saudis (with the exception ِof American and British nationals). The following documents are required for ministry approval:
For Saudi students, a copy of the Saudi ID card is required
Children who are transferring from a school abroad:
Copies of the child’s latest report card or transcript from the school last attended. The report card/transcript must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Saudi Embassy in the country from which the report card/transcript was issued.
If the child is transferring from an in-Kingdom school:
Copies of the Ministry Approval obtained to enroll the student in the previous school.
Letters from the school stating that all tuition fees were paid in full.
Copies of the student’s latest report card or leaving certificate. If the student is transferring from a school located outside of the Eastern Province, the report card must be attested by the Foreign Education Department of the area in which that school is located.
